Our first outing of 2013 was April 28th when we joined the Hyalite club at the Cardwell gas station around 11:00 a.m. TSC had nine cars & 16 people, while Bozeman had seven cars & 14 people. The 30 of us then went on to Butte and the Metals Bar & Grill for lunch where we were met by a Butte couple. Following lunch, we drove to Philipsburg for a stop for dessert & shopping. A nice day for a drive that early in the season.
The Hellgate Corvette Club is pleased to be your host for the 42nd Annual Big Sky Corvette Meet titled “Still Jammin’ Gears at 60″ in celebration of Corvette’s 60th year. The weekend promises several fun filled events to keep you entertained.
Starting with registration Friday May 24th 2013 from 1:00 – 9:00 p.m. and again Saturday 25th from 8:00 – Noon. Both registrations will happen at the biggest Chevy dealer in the Northwest, Karl Tyler Chevrolet located at 3663 N. Reserve Street. Friday’s hospitality and hot wheel races will happen at this same location.
The weekend’s itinerary will be included with your registration packet.
This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Montana’s spectacular scenery and make this part of your 2013 vacation plans – Missoula’s weather is usually great this time of year, things are green and in bloom and Glacier and Yellowstone Parks are waiting.
For our June activity, we attended Deer Lodge’s Territorial Days on June 15th. We met at 9:00 a.m. at the weigh station near the Baxendale Fire Department on Highway 12 west of Helena.
The poker run was rescheduled for July 13th at 10 A.M. We met at the K-Mart parking lot & proceeded from there to Gates of the Mountains Yacht Club where we drew the first card, proceeded to Wolf Creek, Four Corners, over Flesher Pass, and back through Canyon Creek drawing cards along the way. Poker hands were $5.00 per hand.
The date for Camp Mak-A-Dream was set as July 20th. Met at 1:00 p.m. at the Baxendale Fire Department on Highway 12 west of Helena. We had lunch with the Hellgate club after we were through giving rides. To find some general information about this camp, please go to http://Campdream.org/.
Beartooth Highway Trip – August 3rd – 4th, 2013
TSC departed from Helena, Saturday Aug. 3rd for a two-day, one-night trip over the Beartooth Pass. The Beartooth Pass is considered the most scenic highway in the U.S. according to Charles Kuralt. We travelled from Helena to Columbus to Red Lodge on Saturday. The arrival at Red Lodge was followed with check in at The Red Lodge Inn (406-446-2030). Dinner reservations that evening were at the Bear Creek Inn. Sunday departure was returning via Beartooth Pass to Cooke City, Gardiner, and Helena.

Frontage road with stops in Ulm, Cascade, & Wolf Creek. We proceeded up to York for the final leg & lunch. Mark J. won the 50-50 draw.
TSC’s poker run on September 14th started at the old Staples store on Prospect Avenue at 10:00 a.m.; proceeded to Townsend, Norwegian Wood, and O’Malley’s for lunch. This was the Cruise ‘Round the Lake Poker Run.
October 6th was the Townsend Fall Fest & car show. It was $15.00/car to be in the show; free to attend.
